2017 Reading Challenges: May Update

As you may have noticed, I didn’t get to last month’s post in this series. Oops? In my defense, almost no reading was done. And school was seriously kicking my butt. So, you know… Sorry? Anyways, here’s my 2017 Reading Challenges May Update!

1. Books I read

So what books and/or fanfictions did I read in the last two months? Not all that many, actually… But hey, I’m still ahead of my Goodreads Reading Challenge, so at least there’s that, right? 🙂

  1. The Last Time We Say Goodbye, Cynthia Hand
  2. The Rosie Effect, Graeme Simsion
  3. Schoolslag: gedichten, Herman de Coninck
  4. De hectaren van het geheugen, Herman de Coninck
  5. Vingerafdrukken: gedichten, Herman de Coninck
  6. Dat gebied waar mensen zijn, Guido Gezelle
  7. Leaves of Grass, Walt Whitman
  8. Return to You, Kate Perry
  9. All for You, Kate Perry
  10. Wrapped in You, Kate Perry
  11. Just One Day, Gayle Forman
  12. Just One Year, Gayle Forman
  13. To Shape and Change, Blueowl (FF)
  14. Just One Night, Gayle Forman
  15. Close to You, Kate Perry
  16. Girl Online on Tour, Zoe Sugg
  17. Girl Online Going Solo, Zoe Sugg
  18. Looking for You, Kate Perry
  19. Harry Potter and the New Chance, EmlynMara (FF)
  20. One Feeling, E4mj (FF)
  21. Human Stupidity Has No Limits, CrazyDuck5280 (FF)
  22. Partially Kissed Hero, Perfect Lionheart (FF)
  23. Flame from the Underground, Shinigami Ace (FF)
  24. Blood Ties, marksmom (FF)

Looking at it like that, it does look like kind of a lot of books. However, the first two were DNF’s, and any book followed by (FF) is a Fanfiction. Sure, one of those nears about 1000 pages, but there’s also some of under 100 pages. I guess reading is reading? And almost all of this reading? Totally done in April 🙂

2. Reading Challenges

Any book that wasn’t marked with FF counted for my Goodreads Challenge, so I’m starting to feel that I probably underestimated my April-reading quite a bit. None the less, I only managed to get a couple of other reading challenges-prompts dealt with this month. Better luck in June I’d say, but let’s be realistic. It’ll be work for summer break, probably 🙂

  • Challies Reading Challenge
    • A biography: Dat gebied waar mensen zijn, Guido Gezelle
    • A book with a great cover: Just One Day, Gayle Forman
    • A book that won a prize: Leaves of Grass, Walt Whitman
    • A book based on a true story: De hectaren van het geheugen, Herman de Coninck
    • A book of poetry: Schoolslag: gedichten, Herman de Coninck
    • A book you have started but never finished: One Feeling, E4mj
    • A novel longer than 400 pages: To Shape and Change, Blueowl
    • A book with an ugly cover: The Last Time We Said Goodbye, Cynthia Hand
  • Modern Mrs Darcy Reading Challenge
    • A book with a reputation for being un-put-down-able: Just One Day, Gayle Forman
    • A juicy memoir: Dat gebied waar mensen zijn, Guido Gezelle
  • PopSugar Reading Challenge
    • A book about an interesting woman: Girl Online Going Solo, Zoe Sugg
    • Girl Online On Tour, Zoe Sugg

And there you have it, that’s how I’ve been doing on my reading challenges! What have you been reading these past couple of months? Be sure to let me know below!
