2017 Reading Challenges: July Update

So the booktube-a-thon happened. That was good. That was also, or so it feels at least, about the best reading-time that was had this week. What can I say – I took a little break! ? None the less, here’s my reading challenges July update!

1. What I read

So what books did I read, exactly?

  • Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, J.K. Rowling
  • Loved by You, Kate Perry (review)
  • De brief voor de koning, Tonke Dragt
  • Say You Will, Kate Perry
  • The Player, Denise Grover Swank
  • Sweet Contradiction, Peggy Martinez
  • The Story of Awkward, R.K. Ryals (review)
  • Crazy For You, Jennifer Crusie
  • Het Laatste Gevecht, C.S. Lewis
  • The Complete Tales, Beatrix Potter (review)
  • Où es-tu?, Marc Levy
  • Don’t Look Down, Jennifer Crusie
  • Artemis Fowl, Eoin Colfer
  • De Gebroeders Leeuwenhart, Astrid Lindgren

2. Challenges

For some reason, I wasn’t really expecting to get a lot of prompts for my reading challenges done. I don’t know why, probably because I was just reading for fun. None the less, I got a grand total of 12 prompts done! Only one of them was for Modern Mrs Darcy – I really have gotten to the point where I have to actively look for the right books for each prompt. Or, I could just get really creative. Let’s be real – that’s what I’m doing for the Challies.com reading Challenge anyways!

Basically, I have to get stricter with my reading if I want to finish 3 of them. And that was one of my 52 goals for 2017! On the other hand, though? I had some of the most fun books this month. The Story of Awkward was absolutely amazing, rereading The Last Battle (Het Laatste Gevecht) felt like coming home, and hearing the guys from Sorted Food read Harry Potter not only got me an audiobook, it also was just plain amazing!

So here’s to creative interpretation of all the prompts in all my reading challenges! If you want to see what book I matched to what prompt, exactly, be sure to check out my 2017 Reading Challenges-page! Quick extra: all of them counted for my Goodreads Challenge! Only one more to go and I’m at 100! Only 51 more to go and I’ve got that one in the bag!

Be sure to let me know below what you’ve been reading, as well as any recommendations you might have for me!
