Weekly Lists #36: Healthy Snacks

Every Wednesday I post a list of 5 random things. This week: my favourite snacks, the healthy version!
A while back, I posted about some of my favourite guilty snacks – the type that you just crave so badly, even though they’re really not good for you.

Let me tell you, though, those are far from everything I eat – I have quite a few of go to, yummie, delicious snacks that are healthy – that might even be good for you!
So let’s have a look at some!1. Soup

This is probably my all-time favourite snack, just because it’s something that’s always good.
There’s a creamy tomato soup, a lovely, light, julienne soup, there’s hot soup, there’s cold soup (seriously, I love gazpacho!) – there’s literally a soup for every occasion, for every way you’re feeling, and if you aren’t tired of hearing me be lyrical about soup yet, here’s a whole post all about some of my favourite soups!

2. Healthy twist on an apple crumble

I posted the recipe for this one a while back, and let me tell you: I’m still loving it. I’ve definitely been eating it cold more often, and it’s just such a great snack to eat – sweet, filling, yet not so much so that you’ll feel overly full for the rest of the day!

3. Fruit

Just any type of fruit, really – I’m actually a huge fruit eater, always have been actually.
I’m basically that person that always has freshly cut apples, and at least two other types of fruit with me – at all times.
And if I can (in other words: if the fruit’s cheap enough) you can bet I’m making fruit salad!

4. Oatmeal

Is this a breakfast food? Yes.
Does that keep me from eating it at any given point of the day, in any given form?
Absolutely not!
I seriously love oatmeal, because it’s one of those actually pretty good for you-foods, that still allows you to get pretty creative with it.
My favourite way? Oatmeal pancakes! Easy, simple, almost no ingredients, and so yummie!

(Like, really, you can basically just mix up 2 parts oatmeal, 1 part milk, a sprinkle of sweetener and a sprinkle of cinnamon, and just bake them as such – it’s delicious, and it’s the best thing ever, especially if you have some fresh strawberries with it!)

5. Smoothies

If you weren’t convinced yet of my love for all things smoothies after literally dedicating a whole post to it – let me just tell you, again: I love it! It’s healthy, fresh, delicious, and just sweet enough that it can satisfy my craving for something sugary at the end of the day – without actually having any added sugar!

So there you have it, 5 of my favourite healthy snacks – serious question though: I’m always looking for more snack ideas (the key’s variation, after all), so if you have any other ideas, be sure to let me know below so I can try them!
