Book Tags #4: The Fifty Bookish Questions Tag

I found this tag on My Little Book Blog and I felt kind of stupid because – of course – it’s so basic, I should have done this MONTHS ago!

Instead, though, I didn’t come across it until just now, so I’m going to be doing it right now – read on for my replies!

1. What was the last book you read?

At the time of my writing this, at least, it might change in the next two hours…

2. Was it a good one?

Yes!

3. What made it good?

It had romance, some emotional depth, and an ending I didn’t see coming!

4. Would you recommend it to other people?

Yes!

5. How often do you read?

As often as I can 🙂

6. Do you like to read?

Absolutely 🙂

7. What was the last bad book you read?

8. What made you dislike it?

It just seemed too cliche, too slow, and I just couldn’t seem to get through it at all…

9. Do you wish to be a writer?

Sometimes

10. Has any book ever influenced you greatly?

11. Do you read fan fiction?

All. The. Time. Quite often to the detriment of my Reading Challenges 🙂

12. Do you write fan fiction?

I did, although I haven’t for a while…

13. What’s your favorite book?

Why would you make me choose? How on earth am I supposed to choose? The response to this is literally going to be something else every single time anybody asks me…

14. What’s your least favorite book?

I honestly don’t have one…

15. Do you prefer physical books or ready on a device (like a kindle)?

I do both, although I always want to have the physical copy if I do love a book I first read as an e-book 🙂

16. When did you learn to read?

First year of primary school

17. What is your favorite book you had to read in school?

18. What is your favorite book series?

Because I already mentioned Harry Potter 🙂

19. Who is your favorite author?

What do you mean by that question? My favourite chicklit author? My favourite childhood author? The author I’d like to meet most? I need more specifics!

20. What is your favorite genre?

Again: don’t make choose! Tat’s just rude 😮

21. Who is your favorite character in a book series?

Definitely either Pippi Longstocking, Hermione Granger or Luna Lovegood!

22. Has a book ever transported you somewhere else?

That’s literally the reason I read – so preferably: all the time!

23. Which book do you wish had a sequel?

24. Which book do you wish DIDN’T have a sequel?

Like, that just wasn’t necessary – it just wasn’t…

25. How long does it take you to read a book?

Either two hours or two months – there’s no in between.

26. Do you like when books become movies?

If it’s done well and not too much is taken away from the original story.

27. Which book was ruined by its movie adaptation?

I tend to wait until a movie is out on DVD or on the telly because then I can avoid watching a movie that might ruin the book for me – long live reviews 🙂

28. Which movie has done a book justice?

Justice is such a relative term… Pride and Prejudice?

29. Do you read newspapers?

Yes

30. Do you read magazines?

Sometimes

31. Do you prefer newspapers or magazines?

Whichever is in front of me when I’m bored 🙂

32.-35. Do you read while in bed / on the toilet / in the car / in the bath?

Yes

36. Are you a fast reader?

In general: yes

37. Are you a slow reader?

If I have to read a book for school: yes

38. Where is your favorite place to read?

My bed

39. Is it hard for you to concentrate while you read?

Not in general 🙂

40. Do you need a room to be silent while you read?

I actually prefer it not to be 🙂

41. Who gave you your love for reading?

My parents and teachers :p

42. What book is next on your list to read?

A better question would be: what book isn’t – but this one in particular I’m really looking forward to 🙂

43. When did you start to read chapter books?

In my first year of primary school 🙂

Astrid Lindgren! Enid Blyton! J.K. Rowling, Tonke Dragt!

I really don’t know

Everything by Astrid Lindgren, Enid Blyton, J.K. Rowling, Cathy Kelly, Jill Mansell, …

Again: let me just refer you to this post on my favourite children’s classics! Apart from that: everything by Jane Austen and a whole bunch more that I just can’t seem to think of right now 🙂

49. Which books do you think should be taught in every school?

I have no idea, because so many books have different merits that all can be really useful to be taught…

50. Which books should be banned from all schools?

No book should be banned – a lot of them should be properly framed by a teacher, though 🙂
